About

Keystone Foundation has been working in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (NBR), Central & Eastern India, and beyond with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities since 1993. The corpus of work is on improving the quality of environment, ecologically sensitive development, amplifying community voices, conservation, livelihoods, social enterprises, community wellbeing, and culture. This site aims to share the knowledge and experiences gathered by Keystone Foundation and it's partners on the ground, institutional experiences and milestones, as well as an information bank for completed project documents and digital media. This programme area aims to conserve biodiversity through research, action and advocacy in partnership with multiple stakeholders including wildlife. The Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve covers 3 states, 6 districts and multiple administrative blocks. Keystone Foundation is headquartered at Kotagiri, but has set up several field centres across the NBR.
